World War II Museum

The Department has taken the initiative of constructing a War Museum which stores some memoires and relics of this one battle which halted the westward advancement of the Japanese during World War II. The Museum was inaugurated on 1st December, 2008, by Shri. K. Sankarayanarayanan, His Excellency, the Governor of Nagaland.

It holds a collection of artefacts from the time of the battle, models and an extensive collection on visual panels that explore and explains the context, events and outcome of the battle. The collection is augmented with audio-visual presentations that give an insight into the battle and also bring alive the memories of some of those who lived through the conflict.
